Residents at Westboro nursing home Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center at Westborough embraced the holiday spirit this month, hosting a two-day Holiday Fair at their community on December 1 and 2. Friends and family came together for a festive afternoon of food, shopping and merriment to celebrate the season. The skilled nursing and rehabilitation community in Westboro offers short-term rehab, long-term care, memory care, respite stays and hospice care.
The Fair is a labor of love for Beaumont of Westborough residents, with planning and prep for the event beginning months before in the fall. Together, residents and staff set up the Fair, operated the tables and stations, and make many of the crafts available for purchase at the Fair. It’s a lively event showcasing the spirit of the community.
Items made by the Westboro nursing home residents, family and staff included decorative home goods like fleece blankets, baskets and holiday wreathes; relaxing spa therapies; homemade foods including soups and candy mixes; beautiful jewelry and more. Donations of new items, raffle items and homemade articles were also graciously accepted. Attendees enjoyed the opportunity to win some of the nearly 100 prizes on display, with proceeds going toward The Beaumont Resident Activity Fund.
“The Holiday Fair is a wonderful opportunity for members of our community to enjoy time together,” said SALMON Health and Retirement Director of Operations Ed Blake. “The talents of our amazing residents, family and staff are on full display through the wide-ranging homemade items available for sale, with money raised contributing to the social activities of our residents.”
With more than $1,600 raised to date, the Holiday Fair was a huge success!
