Northborough’s Jim Priest Joins Featured Show to Discuss Benefits of Assisted Living

Posted by SALMON Health on January 14, 2021

Community Relations Director at Whitney Place at Northborough, Jim Priest, recently appeared on “Frank and Mary,” a featured show which runs on Northborough’s cable station.

Hosted by Elder Law Attorney, Arthur Bergeron, the show focuses on different resources seniors can utilize in local communities. Attorney Bergeron was accompanied by co-host Liz Tretiak, director of the Northborough Senior Center.

This particular episode focused on the fictitious couple, Frank and Mary, who reside in the Northborough community. Attorney Bergeron and Director Tretiak discussed common trends in relation to seniors and COVID-19 in the greater community and how senior living communities are evolving during the current pandemic.

Priest described the different services Whitney Place offers, the effects of COVID-19 and how the community continues to move forward and find unique ways to incorporate pre-pandemic activities. They also discuss the various guidelines in place and the importance of maintaining family connections.

“I’ve worked with the channel before,” explains Priest. “We used to film a cooking show at Whitney Place; it’s great to have a connection to the local station because our Residents can also access the programs through our own in-house TV channel.”

Residents at Whitney Place at Northborough have especially enjoyed watching the in-house TV programs this past year as another fun way to connect with others while pre-pandemic activities are limited.

“The Northborough Senior Center does some shows with the channel as well,” elaborates Priest. “We’ve featured their cocktail recipes, webinars and more on our in-house channel too.”

Throughout the program, Priest reiterated that even though things are much different in the Whitney Place community, the staff and Residents make the most of every day. “I’m very proud of our team and of our Residents who continue to share a positive outlook during this difficult time,” says Priest.

Priest’s debut on “Frank and Mary” serves as a way for others to understand the benefits of living in assisted living communities. When asked about the process itself, Priest says, “This was a great chance to connect with the community, and I enjoyed it.”
