Q: What do you do in your role as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant?
A: As a COTA, my day mostly consists of working with and educating residents, caregivers or families to help them with daily tasks and activities. We try to ensure that residents are able to complete tasks as independently and safely as possible, whether they will be residing at Beaumont or returning home.
Q: Why did you choose to work with seniors in your professional career?
A: I chose senior care because I love assisting people who have contributed so much to society. I feel our seniors should be treated with the utmost respect and dignity in their care, and I am honored to work with them each day.
Q: What has been the most rewarding experience you’ve had at Beaumont?
A: I’m proud when I see someone succeed – whether it is going home after a long illness, or regaining a skill. These are not always big stories, but I have had many moments at Beaumont where I have been grateful to be part of someone’s progress as they successfully tackle a goal.
