After a stay in the hospital, receiving treatment for an illness or as a result of an accident, people begin their journey toward recovery at all different levels of ability. When a resident comes to Beaumont at Westborough for short-term rehabilitation, it is the job of our care team to quickly understand their current state and develop a plan to help them achieve a positive outcome.
When Linda Rudolph left the hospital after suffering multiple breaks in her leg from a fall a home, she was in pain, had very limited mobility and was feeling ill from prescribed medication. The rehabilitation staff at Beaumont worked quickly to assess her medication and identify what was causing her to feel sick. Linda’s regimen was adjusted, and her condition improved immensely, allowing her to feel well enough to begin physical therapy.
Linda had broken her foot before but opted not to do physical therapy. This time around, she was grateful to have the team, the plan and the equipment available to help aid in her recovery.
Physical therapy helped Linda return home
During her stay at the community, Linda was amazed by the staff. She felt comforted by their upbeat, positive attitude and the treatment she received in their care. After just a week at Beaumont at Westborough, Linda was discharged and returned home, feeling healthy, with her medication in a good place and her mobility improved with the assistance of a scooter. We’re happy to see Linda head home feeling better as she continues her recovery!
