The SALMON Difference

At SALMON Health and Retirement, we believe in meeting you where you are in life—and supporting where you’re going. As a family-owned organization with deep roots in Massachusetts, we’ve been guiding families through the aging journey since 1952. Our services are designed to meet every need along the way, so you or your loved one can truly move in once—and never move again.
A Legacy of Care. A Future of Possibility.
At SALMON, generations of experience meet forward-thinking innovation, creating a community where people can truly Do More with confidence, connection, and peace of mind.
Family Owned & Operated
For over 70 years, SALMON Health & Retirement has remained family-owned and operated – a status that sets us apart from many others in the senior care industry. We’re not in the real estate business or driven by distant corporate interests. We’re deeply rooted in our community, guided by family values, and focused on care for yours. Local. Trusted. Personal.

Legacy of Care and Compassion
Our founders, Helen and Dan Salmon were nurses. They set standard for themselves, their children, and every employee to come…to “do more”. As Helen said, “We must never lose sight of our most basic responsibility – to treat each individual as we would want to be treated ourselves.” Every day, since 1952, members of the Salmon family have participated in the care of our residents and patients—as nurses, therapists, landscapers, personal care attendants, dining room servers, and executives. Leading by their example, care and compassion thrive at SALMON.

Our Continuum of Care
It’s quite simple. As life changes, we change with you. By choosing SALMON, you’re joining a family of providers that works seamlessly with one another to coordinate care, communication, and outcomes. Whether changing needs are due to the natural aging process or a medical emergency, our continuum of care is ready with a full range of services and resources designed for continuity and peace of mind. From independent living to memory care, home health or hospice, we are with you every step of the way.

Built to Last—With People Who Stay
We believe longevity matters—not just in life, but in leadership and team. Many of our employees have been with us for decades, offering consistent, familiar care you can count on. This culture of commitment builds trust, strengthens relationships, and ensures continuity you won’t find everywhere else. It’s not just a job for us—it’s a calling.
